The Elandrugtechnologies.com website is an interactive online service.  It is operated by Elan Pharma International Limited on behalf of Elan Drug Technologies (EDT).  EDT is a business unit within the Elan Corporation, plc group.  It conducts business worldwide and, amongst other matters, maintains operations relating to the research, development and manufacture of pharmaceutical products in Ireland, the U.S and elsewhere. 
 

EDT is committed to protecting the privacy of users of this site. This policy explains how EDT achieves that goal and gives you details of our privacy practices, including a) what information we collect about you when you use this site; b) how the information will be used or disclosed; and c) your rights with respect to our collection and use of your data.

What Information do we collect and why?

 

We may ask you to provide us with personal information in certain areas of our site on a voluntary basis.

1. Information Requests: If you submit an email requesting information, we will use the personal information you provide to respond to your request.  In order to respond to your request we may make this personal information available to other Elan Corporation plc group companies and in some circumstances to certain of our service providers. These entities may be located outside the EEA, however will primarily be located within the U.S. and countries within the European Union.

2. Contact Services: In many places on the site, you will be provided with contact details for specific groups. You can contact any named group by clicking on the email link next to the relevant group. Information that you send to any individual group will be used by that person(s) for the purposes of responding to your communication. In order to respond to your request, we may make personal information that you submit in these sections available to other Elan Corporation plc group companies and, in some circumstances, to third party service providers.  These entities may be located outside the EEA, however will primarily be located within the U.S. and countries within the European Union.

3. Careers Services: If you want to apply for an advertised position with EDT through the Careers section of the site you will be asked to submit general information (such as your name and address), together with a copy of your resume. The Careers section of this site is operated by a third party, known as “Candidate Manager” on behalf of EDT. When you submit your details and resume it will, therefore be transferred automatically to Candidate Manager for it to process on behalf of EDT.  As EDT strives to provide the greatest level of privacy for its users, we encourage you to review Candidate Manager’s privacy policy before your submit any information to this section of the site.  For more information on Candidate Manager’s data collection and use practices, please refer to Candidate Manager’s privacy policy located at http://www.candidatemanager.ie/about/privacy.asp?id=1&type=4.  In addition, your resume may be transferred to any business units of EDT throughout the world. EDT will use this information for purposes of processing your hiring application and for corresponding with you. Your application will be kept on file for a minimum of two years. EDT is an equal opportunities employer. Apart from those policies required by law, EDT may change its human resources and hiring policies and practices at any time without further notice.

 

4. Email Alert System: we will contact you with email alerts on EDT news and events only if you have consented to this via the sign-up form in this section of the site.   If you wish to stop the use of your personal information for this purpose at any time please contact us (see Contact Details below).

 

5. Cookies: A cookie is a small text file that is generated by a website, sent to a user’s browser and stored on the hard drive of a user’s computer.  The purpose of cookies is to store information relating to users of a website, including IP addresses, navigational data and user preferences.  Currently we do not use cookies or other technology to gather non-personal information, although we may do so in the future to monitor performance of the site and to make improvements to it.

   
How else does EDT use/disclose Information that it collects from this site?

 

EDT will hold all of the personal information that it collects on its computers in the Republic of Ireland. However, EDT may transfer your personal information electronically from time to time to other Elan Corporation plc group companies in other jurisdictions outside the EEA, including in the U.S. for the purposes described above.

In addition, EDT may from time to time need to disclose your personal information to third parties located in the U.S. or in any other country, but only:

 

1. To contractors if necessary to support our business (e.g., technical support providers);

  

2. In connection with the sale, assignment or other transfer of the business of this site; or

 

3. If required to do so by applicable laws, court orders, government regulations or authorities.

 

Except as specifically provided above and in this Privacy Policy, EDT will not disclose personal information to any third party without your prior consent.

 

Your Rights

Access and Correction: You have a right to know about the personal information that EDT holds about you. You also have a right to correct, amend or delete the information that EDT holds about you if it is incorrect. We will hold on to your personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes of providing access to our site and related services to you or as required by law.

This website provides links to various websites that we do not control. EDT may modify this Privacy Policy at any time, at its discretion and modifications are effective upon being posted on this site. You are responsible for reviewing this Privacy Policy periodically to ensure that you are aware of any changes to it.

 

Children

 

This site is not directed to children and EDT does not knowingly solicit information from any child under the age of 13. Should a child whom we know to be under 13 send personal information to us, we will use that information only to respond directly to that child to inform him or her that we must have parental consent before receiving his or her personal information.
