Depot Delivery

Significant work has been undertaken in applying the NanoCrystal® technology to injectable depot delivery. Janssen’s (J&J’s) one month paliperidone palmitate (Invega® Sustenna™) depot injection which was approved in July 2009 by the US FDA, uses EDT’s NanoCrystal® technology.  Another depot delivery compound is undergoing Phase I studies.

In this example, a long-acting depot of an otherwise insoluble compound has been developed.
