NanoCrystal® technology offers an effective tool to aid in the screening of new chemical entities (NCE’s) in discovery phase because it can:
 

  • formulate with mg - g quantities of NCE
  • rapidly prepare formulations
  • standardise the formulation approach
  • be applicable to all routes of delivery
  • be scaleable through development to commercial manufacturing
  • be used by biologists, toxicologists, DMPK and pharmaceutical scientists    


EDT's NanoMill® system can rapidly formulate less than 50 mg of poorly-soluble drug as an aqueous dispersion of NanoCrystal® particles, suitable for all routes of administration in vivo, or for use in water-soluble screening systems.



NanoCrystal® technology offers an effective screening tool for new chemical entities (NCE’s) in the discovery phase of new drug development. The technology enables the development of drugs that might not be otherwise developed but for the application of NanoCrystal® technology.
 

The technology enables the development of drugs that might not be otherwise developed but for the application of NanoCrystal® technology. In order to assess preclinical activity, an NCE must be administered in animal models. NanoCrystal® technology offers a safe, efficient way to develop a suitable formulation to elucidate initial efficacy and toxicity data in animal models, thus enhancing screening efficacy. It is likely that up to 40 percent of NCE’s are poorly soluble and most are not progressed to preclinical evaluation because of the formulation challenges presented by their poorly water-soluble solubility.


Further development is available via NanoCrystal® technology including scale-up; tabletting and injectables, and manufacture.
